I just recently closed on a co-op, found for me by Lois
Fogal.From the start of my search for a
home, Lois was my one and only agent, and I consider myself lucky to have found
her.She was in fact recommended to me
by a friend of the family.
The co-op I closed on was almost never going to be mine, as
my initial offer was rejected.The
seller wouldn’t budge on the price, and to make things worse, he had just that
morning signed a lease with a tenant.I went
home from the showing disappointed with the situation, but still sure Lois
would find something great for me.The
next day Lois called me and asked if I could afford just a little bit more than
my initial offer.I called my lender and
it turned out I could.I told Lois, and
soon after that, Lois called me back to tell me the seller had accepted the
bid.
The whole process from then on was a disaster.I won’t go into details, but it is important
for me to say that several times I called on Lois to help with various tasks,
and she never had a problem helping me.She took the initiative several times to find solutions for a problem or
two, and in the end, she showed up to my closing with a gift of a fire extinguisher!She had surprised me yet again.
There is no doubt that if ever someone asks me if I know a
real estate agent, I will instantly give them Lois’s card.I honestly believe she was the person most
responsible for me closing on the home I’ve literally always wanted.

am writing to let you know how much my husband and I enjoyed working with one
of your employees. My husband, Clinton, and I were lucky enough to work
with Joyce Friedman on the purchase of our new home. It was by a chance
encounter that we met Joyce; she had called the plumbing and heating company my
husband works for, and he was sent out on her call, but we couldn’t be happier
to have met her. She was an excellent resource for us, and over the
course of our time with her, we came to feel that a personal connection had
formed.
From
the first time we met Joyce we felt a bond forming. She was extremely
intuitive and proactive in our search for our first home. We had worked
briefly with another realtor whom we felt showed us any houses she could find,
rather than listening to our thoughts on what we wanted. From the get go,
Joyce proved to be far more interested in helping us find a home we could love
than in just making a commission off of us. In fact, before we’d all met
face to face for the first time, Joyce took very specific information from us
by phone to help her narrow down her search criteria, ensuring that the homes
we looked at together were homes we would be interested in. Though these
sound like things that any realtor should do, I can tell you that from our
experience, it’s rare to find one who actually does them. Her work with
us paid off immediately. We loved one of the homes she showed us on our
first outing and put in an offer that was accepted. Through no fault of
Joyce’s, that deal fell through, but Joyce was so informative and so supportive
of us that we knew she would be able to help us find another place that we
could love. She walked us through all of the steps with our first
purchase attempt and was very clear when explaining things to us. We
valued her input so much that we walked away from that deal still having
extreme confidence in her and our search.
The
very next weekend we went out with Joyce again. She had found several
more homes for us to look at. We were eager to continue to search, but we
balked at one of her selections because of its price. She explained that
she had chosen it because of the wonderful kitchen; which was one of the things
I had specified we were looking for; because it was in the school district we
were interested in, and because of the listing’s history. When she
explained the history, the length of time it had been on the market and the two
previous reductions in price, we decided to look at the house. After looking
at the property, I was still doubtful that we could afford it as the listing
price was beyond our comfort zone, but Joyce explained why it actually was a
possibility for us. We put in an offer we were comfortable with on the
property that day, knew that it had been accepted that night, went to contract
about two weeks later, and now, two months later, own that home.
I
could write to you about how well Joyce researched the properties she took us
to see and how well informed she was, or I could tell you that she made sure
that we did everything legitimately to save both ourselves and herself any
future hassle or hang-ups, but I believe one of the traits that really makes
Joyce exemplary is her ability to connect with her clients. Her open
personality and friendly demeanor make her instantly likeable. From our
first encounter with her both Clinton and I felt like we could trust her to do
right by us, to help us and guide us through the process. We were able to
comfortably discuss with her why we were looking for a home of our own, our
frustrations with the properties we had seen on our own and with other
realtors, and what we felt would make a house feel like home to us.
Joyce
was able to build personal connections by sharing bits of her past experiences,
both as a homeowner and a realtor, that we could relate to or that would ease
our minds. Clinton and I both feel that we were extremely lucky to work
with Joyce. She has been so very thoughtful throughout this process,
congratulating us, sending us a small holiday gift and a housewarming
gift. After hearing other people’s horror stories, we know that Joyce is

her ability to get us excited about the long journey to home ownership was
remarkable to say the least. Her enthusiasm for her job is absolutely
contagious. Andra was able to meet both my husband and my requests for the
house, which was a tall order. He wanted move in ready and I was ready
for a project. She found us a house in our price range, which was not easy in
and of itself, but it also had the number of bedrooms
I requested, the right size kitchen and backyard and the move in condition my
husband insisted on. Then it seemed like at every turn there was another

was that it was an REO and with her contacts with the banks’ realtor she was able
to get the job done in an incredibly small amount of time.I am happy to say that we are now in contract
and the appraisal is happening today. We are due to go to closing on
February 22nd and could not be happier.
